An entertainer’s kitchen can be functional, enjoyable, and organized.

Approximately 4.55 million homeowners, or 26%, use their kitchens as spaces for socializing and entertaining. With so many people using their kitchens as gathering spaces, it’s essential to ensure that they’re not only comfortable to be in but also well-organized and accessible.

If you love entertaining in your home, chances are good that you’ve been frustrated trying to figure out how to store everything.

These kitchens not only have everyday items such as plates, utensils, and serving pieces but also larger sizes and quantities to serve more people. 

But we assure you that an entertainer’s kitchen can still be organized. 

Entertainer’s Kitchen Organizing Project

This blog post shares how we helped a client organize her kitchen, which was full of cooking accessories and entertainment pieces. 

We specifically highlight cooking utensils, food storage organization, placemats and cloth napkins, coffee bar, and under the sink. 

Whether you are an entertainer or not, I’m sure you will pick up a few tips you can use in your kitchen.

The best part of this project?  This client was at work while we worked our magic! 

She decluttered before our session and loved coming home for the big reveal!  Don’t worry. When clients don’t work closely with us during organizing, we create a walkthrough video so they know where to find things.

Cooking Utensil & Cutting Board Organization

An entertainer’s kitchen is going to have a lot of cooking tools!  We loved that this kitchen has excellent drawer space!  The drawers needed structure so the client could easily access what she needed while cooking. 

Because the insides of the drawers are wooden, we used bamboo drawer organizers and expandable bamboo dividers. These are adjustable solutions that will evolve as her needs change.

We used a deep drawer below the utensils to store cutting boards. This adjustable pan rack fits perfectly, giving extra room for other things.

Tupperware Organization

Storage containers and Tupperware can be an organizing nightmare in any kitchen.  People who entertain often have even more storage containers because they have a lot of leftovers or want to share food with their friends. 

Adding structure is critical to keeping your storage containers organized, even with large drawers that have plenty of space.  We like this storage container organizer by Youcopia and this bamboo option by SpaceAid.

Placemats & Cloth Napkins

One of the most fun parts is creating a vibe or theme for the occasion!  This client changes her tablescape each season, so she has a lot of table linens. 

We wanted her to feel excited about changing her table decor, so we created two drawers full of everything she needed!  We love that the storage containers and folding method allow her to mix and match placemats, napkins, and napkin rings easily.

Coffee Bar

Whether hosting a dinner party or overnight guests, a coffee bar is always a nice touch.  It allows guests to serve themselves, making them feel relaxed and at home. 

This client created a coffee bar in her kitchen, and we were able to add some structure to tidy it up a bit.  We used expandable bamboo organizers to divide the large drawers into smaller sections. 

An open bamboo bin corralled the coffee filters, and a lidded box holds a variety of teas.

Under the Sink

While you may not think the area under your sink is important when hosting, you need quick access to cleaning supplies for quick cleanup.  Let’s face it: under the sink can be gross. 

You want to be able to open the cabinet and not gross out your guests.  This area has a lot of pipes in the way, so finding the right products can be tricky. 

We love these long bins with wheels.  They work well under sinks and in deep cabinets and pantries.
