Most of us have heard some variation of the Golden Rule.  The gist is to treat others as you would treat yourself.  I caught a 10% Happier podcast episode a few months ago that argued we should actually be doing the opposite of the golden rule.  Say what?!

Most people are much kinder to other people than they are to themselves.  Think about it.  How did you talk to yourself last time you made a mistake, looked in the mirror, or made a less-than-desirable decision?  It may have been pretty harsh, and you likely thought things that you would never say out loud to another person!

So, Dan Harris’s podcast guest that day argued that instead of our immediate judgments of ourselves, we should think how we would talk to someone else in those situations and give ourselves that level of gentleness and kindness.

Fast forward about a week later, and I saw on post on Instagram that stopped me in my tracks.

My new friend Caron Parker posted, “’Love your Neighbor as Yourself’ means nothing if you don’t even know what Loving Yourself means!”

She really got me thinking…what does it mean to love yourself?  Not just be “ok” with yourself or tolerate certain features or characteristics, but deeply and unconditionally love yourself.

Naturally, my curiosity got away with me, and I knew we had to have Caron as a guest expert in the Your Path to Simplified Membership.  I talk to clients about vision all the time, and it occurred to me that a clear vision, one that isn’t muddled with shoulds and coulds, comes from a place of abundance and love, not from scarcity and fear.

Caron’s definition of loving yourself is knowing what you need, knowing what you don’t need, and being confident enough to create those boundaries for yourself.

I am SO excited that she is speaking to the group in February.  She’s offering Your Path to Simplified members a 20% discount on her 1:1 12-Week Coaching Package, The Sound Bar, and a 1:1 Breathwork Session, which all can be done in person or virtually!

If you are a woman who knows you are meant for more, feeling like you’ve tried everything, and you’re not sure where to go next, then Caron is your lady.  Here is the link to learn more about her, and you’ll definitely want to follow her on Instagram @caronparkerlivingwell.

If you are really wishing you were part of the membership so you can join in, I have great news for you!  Membership doors open on 2/14, and this guest expert session, along with all of the others, will be waiting for you inside of the membership!  Click here to join the waitlist so you don’t miss out!

XOX!
